At this stage pupils learn how to develop basic and social skills.
HOW DO WE LEARN? “Emotion ACTIVATES LEARNING”
The student is an active protagonist of learning, eager to do research and discover. Through the methodology of collaborative work, projects, CLIL and ICT resources, the student is motivated and looks forward to new challenges.
This stage is intended to be an important part of everyday life. We want our pupils
- To feel like learning new things
- To be thrilled with new experiences
- To have very good classmates and friends
- To enjoy researching, creating, living together and sharing.
We believe that our students are a very important part of our school…
- Because we like to share new projects with them
- Because we care how they feel and what they think
- Because we want to learn together with all of them
FAMILY-SCHOOL RELATIONSHIP: WE WALK TOGETHER
In Family – School partnership the input of both home and school is valued and the focus is on what both parents and educators can do to support students as learners. In addition, fostering positive Family-School working relationships in accordance with the Educational Project is indispensable in order to promote student learning in a common project.
An important part of the students’ follow-up is the individualized tutoring, in which the monitoring of the personal work is summed up and also the needs and concerns of each one of them are assessed.
LEARNING OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES, PLURILINGUAL EDUCATION
At Primary level, students are exposed to English through curricular English lessons and through the CLIL methodology which implies learning English through Art and Art through English. Furthermore, primary pupils are in direct contact with the English language with the help of the native English language assistants.
TREATMENT OF DIVERSITY: “WE ARE ALL THE SAME, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT”
The fact that the School has Units for children with Special Educational Needs (called USEE in Catalan) makes us very sensitive regarding our attention to diversity. Thus, our educational institution promotes inclusion and diversity and its main goal is to educate the whole person, to help its students develop academically, emotionally, physically and morally in order to be capable of achieving their full potential.
We keep track of our students’ progress according to their individuality and with a direct observation of their learning. In this way we can adapt to their pace of learning taking into account their diversity.
The members of the Academic Staff are characterized by their humanity that allows them to establish a relationship of trust with students and families. Aware of the individuality of each student and with the ability to orient their learning in a personalized way, the teaching staff is consistent with the school’s ideology and personally involved in the integral formation of the student. Capable of getting excited every day, the teachers are committed to innovative projects.
