Professional Health Training at Escola Túrbila

Health Professional Training

At CFGS Hygiene and Dental Prosthetics we apply a methodology based on the execution of real cases. Both in our internship classrooms and in the more than 200 companies that collaborate with us, students will achieve all the competencies of what their profession will be. FP DUAL.

WHAT WILL YOU FIND WITH US

Department of Health at Túrbula School

Our students of the Cycle of Higher Degree of Oral Hygiene carry out during the two academic years practical with real patients, in the clinical classroom of the school endowed with 5 dental chairs. The treatments they perform are all within the professional responsibilities of the dental hygienist: oral hygiene, fluoridation, sealing of pits and fissures, among others. They also conduct dental check-up of the school’s elementary students

Since 2014, the School has been collaborating with the Catalan Institute of Health for solidarity care for oral health treatments for patients who are in a situation of poverty , who are referred to school with the dual aim of offering, on the one hand, the students of the training cycle of Oral Hygiene the opportunity to carry out practices with real patients , so that they could apply the theoretical knowledge acquired and, on the other hand, to carry out an act of solidarity with the people who due to their economic situation they are at risk of social exclusion.

All our teachers have a high degree of commitment to teaching . They are dentists and prosthetists who also spend part of their working day in dental clinics and laboratories. In our opinion, this is the best way to teach a profession and to be able to convey to students the changing needs of the dental sector.

At school, we promote learning based on the simulation of everyday situations in the world of work . By applying neurodidactics, we achieve meaningful content learning by linking theory and practice in a fun way.

In the 2015-2016 academic year, an agreement was started with the International University of Catalonia (UIC), in which second-year students in the Dental Prosthesis training cycle make the dental prostheses that fourth- and fifth-year students will place in the patient’s mouths of the Faculty of Dentistry to care for patients at risk of social exclusion who receive through the Red Cross.

The facilities of the Dental Prosthesis and Oral Hygiene Practices classrooms have recently been remodeled in order to offer our students the most realistic work environment.

Our “All Inclusive” system provides the student with everything they need to be able to study without extra expenses : Instruments and materials of hygiene and dental prostheses, dressing gown, access to our virtual campus, contents…. This allows you to study without hassle or surprise .

* Conditions applicable during the regular duration of these studies (2 academic years).

Our students receive part of the contents of the cycle in English . Whatever their level of knowledge of this language, the student will be able to follow the classes without difficulty as we adapt to the different levels present in the classroom.

Whatever the student’s teaching methodology (online, face-to-face or open classroom), from the beginning of the course, the student has access to our virtual campus where you can find :

  • The digitized didactic contents of the cycle, necessary for the follow-up of the theoretical, practical classes and seminars. This content can be downloaded for work by the student.
  • News and events from our day to day.
  • Calendar where you will find test dates, assignments, exams, relevant events,…
  • Direct contact with teachers and classmates.

(* Service not included in course cost)
Students will be able to complement their training with preparatory classes for the PAU with a schedule adapted to their needs.
This training is taught by high school teachers from our center, with extensive experience in preparing for these tests.

We have collaboration agreements with dental clinics and laboratories throughout Catalonia. No matter where you come from, we will find a company where you can do your internship comfortably. We also have companies to do your training in dual mode.

Thanks to the relationship of our teachers with the dental sector and the years we have been sending interns to companies, we have a very active job board which many clinics and laboratories have relied on for years.

This service is available throughout the professional life of our students.

All our studies are approved . Regardless of the modality you choose , we guarantee that your theoretical and practical training will be excellent and will allow you to work safely . Just choose the one that is most comfortable for you:

  • Face-to-face : Monday to Friday morning shift.
  • Open Classroom : If you can attend class regularly but your day has changing schedules, this is your modality.
  • On line : Attending school regularly for exams, internships and seminars. It’s the easiest way to study comfortably by combining work and study.
  • Training stays : If you live far from school but want to graduate receiving quality training, find out.

The evaluation of both theoretical and practical contents is done continuously , through partial tests and works theoretical and practical:

  • Also, in case of not passing the contents in the first call, recovery exams are made throughout the course.
  • We value at all times what the student is learning. This allows us to modulate the learning process to ensure that everyone gets to the content properly.
